Liebster Award and 11 Female Artists

Phew! It certainly took me a long time, but I’m proud to announce that I finally did it! The Liebster Award is a friendly game from Bloglovin and a nice way to connect with other bloggers and get to know them a little better. I’ve been nominated by Daniella from Real, Not Ideal, Sarah from Molly and Beans and Nat from Vim & Vintage  (Three is my lucky charm!). I do apologize for taking so long to reply and I hope you enjoy my answers. Thanks for the love! ❤

For my nominees I’ve chosen 11 very talented female artists so bare with me, well at least till the end of the post, and go to their pages to check out their fantastic work.

Here are the rules

1. Provide a link back to the blogger who nominated you

2. Post 11 random facts about you

3. Answer 11 random questions set by the blogger who nominated you

4. Nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers for the award (excluding who nominated you) with 11 questions for them to answer.

5. Let the nominees know that you have nominated them

Step 1: 11 random facts about myself

1. I love coffee and I take it very seriously. 2. I am a massive nerd, I love all sciences and everything from biology to theoretical physics. Really. 3. When I was little I wanted to be a film director, but unfortunately that didn’t work out… but I do love being a designer. 4. I’ve never changed my hair color. 5. I’m quite tall (176cm) so I never wear high heels apart from weddings. 6. I wish I could rollerblade. 7. I love white, but I dress in black a lot. 8. I am so terrible at looking after plants I once killed a cactus. 9. I binge eat chocolates on pms. 10. I hate talking on the phone. 11. I find it quite challenging talking about myself hahaha

Step 2: The questions

… from Sarah:

1.  What is your favorite piece of clothing currently?

A little blue marine jacket from Mint&Berry.

2.  Do you have any pets?

We have a Samurai fish named Red Fish.

3.  What was your favourite holiday?

Last year my husband and I spent a week in the Maldives, it was amazing.

4.  Sweet or Savoury?

Savory! I’ll pick a sandwich over a cake anytime.

5.  Why did you start a blog?

It’s a funny thing really, I spend a lot of time researching for my work and seeing lovely things so I thought I’d share it… At first I wasn’t really sure where I was going with it but then I started to really enjoy it and get nice feedback from other bloggers and readers. So here I am 🙂

6.  What is your favourite TV programme?

Currently Broad City.

7.  How do you stop the hiccups?

Can you really??? I mean, they say to hold your breath for 30 seconds but that doesn’t work…

8.  What is your favourite drink?

Bellinis. Oh I love those!

9.  Name {3} things you would need to have with you if you were stranded on a desert island.

A Nespresso machine (well assuming it comes with unending supply of ristretto pods and electricity), a swiss army knife (cheeky pick!) and a massive pillow so I could sleep.

10. What makes you happy?

Sunshine.

11. What is your favourite song currently?

Big Brown Eyes by Benny Sings

And now my nominees:

Kiran Patel from Illustrating Rain

Elyse Ashley from ARTSYologist

Photographer Katie Soze

Illustrator Laura Ashton

Illustrator Andrea Lauren

Cathryn Nicholson from Pencil Stitches

Meredith Winston from Paper Canteen

Painter Robin Cheers

Illustrator Marie Gardeski

And here are your questions, Ladies:

1. Can you, in a few words, describe your work?

2. What have inspired you to become an artist?

3. Where do you get inspiration from?

4. In your opinion what is the hardest thing about being a female artist?

5. Has anyone ever told you you should get a “real job”?

6. And did you consider it?

7. What is currently your favorite/ most used technique?

8. Favorite artist of all time?

9. Favorite contemporary artist?

10. What was your proudest moment as an artist?

11. And finally, how do you stop a hiccup? That question really threw me off earlier…

Voilà!

That’s it from me! I hope you all decide to participate. I look forward to seeing your answers and your work.

xx

And if I may, I have a super special thanks to Nguyên-Kan from Depth of Feelings for nominating to a Sunshine Award, which I unfortunately never got round to participating… Thank you so much though.

So be sure to check out these wonderful websites too!
